The Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council is hard at work on PCI DSS 4.0. The PCI SSC is now targeting a Q1 2022 publication date for PCI DSS 4.0. There will be a training period and a transition period, with PCI DSS 3.2.1 retiring and being fully replaced by v4.0 in Q1 of 2024.
